Meeple Mart's game space

unfortunately meeple mart's game space is closed due to theft, I wasn't sure where to put this, but just letting all of you know

Wow. What a useless (bunch of) tool(s).

I know it's a trek, but I have gaming tables at my place and a desire to drink while I play 40k. Is it weird that is almost the only thing I miss since starting (having) to go out to gaming clubs?

There is still Duelling Grounds, which I prefer anyway, living in Etobicoke.

I have to agree with you, dueling grounds is the better store, I live in etobicoke too. and the guys at meeplemart are not the friendliest

I have had the exact opposite experience at Meeplemart, they've always been kind and courteous to me. As much as Dueling Grounds is a nice store with helpful staff, prices say a lot to my wallet as well. Meeplemart's GW stuff is typically ~20% less than GW standard and their X-Wing stuff is the cheapest I've found in the GTA. I do like the gaming atmosphere at DG though compared to pretty much anywhere else I've been.

I haven't been by, but my buddy was at Meeplemart the other day and said the store is being shifted around. Product is going to the lower side of the store and the gaming tables are up on the counter side (for better observation I suppose). Either way I'll be glad to head back over there for the occasional game. DG just got more expensive and as much as I don't mind helping maintain their tables if I'm going to do real scenery work it's gunna be on my home tables.

ya I'm a big fan of Meeplemart as well, they really try to give you a deal on product and have some pretty alright tables. I thought it was weird that they were closing their gaming area because I assume that it gives them a lot of business, good to hear they're just re-positioning things. I remember when I called them to see if they had the Eldar Craftworlds codex they said it was available then when I showed up they told me it must have been stolen because it wasn't on the shelves, at least now I know they weren't just bullshitting me (maybe).

So crisis averted I guess, only downside now is that a lot more window shoppers and kids are going to be staring over our shoulders

I had a kid play grab-ass with some of my painted (yeah, some are actually painted!!) models at DG yesterday, so that's par for the course.

Fringe benefit: that's the side you get cell phone reception on anyway. My girlfriend will be pleased

How did DG get more expensive?

Their X-Wing stuff jumped so that their small ships are now $5 more expensive than MM and the larger ships range from $10-20 more as well. Their 40k stuff is still bog standard to GW's prices just the same (whereas MM is ~20% less on everything).

I stopped by today and they are still reorganizing. I feel like it'll be a little while yet before they re-open the gaming area.

Yea, DG's prices are pretty standard. Only really buy hobby supplies from there. Meeplemart just isn't convenient to get to for me, and since meeting all you fine folks at duelling grounds Its my go to place.

I'm hoping that with our club doing its thing we can get those tables up to an awesome standard and thus increase the draw and community size.

DG's prices for GW stuff is standard, pretty much everything else I've looked at is high and that's even down to the dice cubes from Chessex.

I was working on a table with Chas on Sunday, they'll all look a lot better when he and whoever else helps get more time at it.

Well I generally just order something if I want it from meeplemart, as its to far for me. Also, DG is closer and I know everyone there and I got into an argument with they guys at meeplemart. Some of there are nice and stuff. But, well its a long story with some others

I will be playing age of sigmar on saturday so I will be donating terrain I finished making
