Best part so far? The (alleged) price. From Natfka:

Deathwatch; Overkill 100£ $165USD

That's roughly $230 CAD, which leaves us around $185 at a casual (and typical) 20% off retail at LGSs.

Newest piece of information (consistent source):

Rules for both should be in WD (Deathwatch this issue, Broodkin next) - propper army releases should be later afaik.

What's that? Proof of Deathwatch rules in for 40k on the way?

The bottom line translates to:

removable regulating (rules, I'd guess) section for the deathwatch in warhammer 40000

Yippie ki-yay friends!

Really really nice models. If only it didn't cost a bajillion dollars. If/when the Canadian dollar recovers...

At least it's a ton of models. Imagine the cost if GW released them individually like the Assassins?

Moar pics, this time coming from dakka. Git yer German on!:

Deathwatch datasheets (incomplete pics) showing point cost and FOC designation:

Last but not least, a picture on the Genestealer Cult datasheets showing them with their own Faction symbol which means they'll be a force of their own aside the Tyranid Faction:

Why all deathwatch marines and no Inquisitor? All the inquisitor models are ancient. They never even made one in terminator armour, despite that being an option in the codex. I want to see a regular sized human in Termie armour!

Inquisitor models are easy enough to kit bash depending on your collection of GK bits, though it would be pretty swanky to see them come out with more current sculpts.

Do you have confirmation that it is actually a frag cannon? I heard somewhere it's just a fancy looking heavy bolter

I think it's labelled as a deathwatch pattern frag cannon?

Edit: its in the Squad Donatus picture under wargear

For sure, unit entry is Deathwatch Frag Cannon but ever other mention of it is simply Frag Cannon. Also, it has an identical stat line (Template S6 AP- Assault 2 Rending) save the solid shell shot.

Let's be very clear here, this weapon is implicitly more powerful than the one our friggin' dreadnoughts have been carrying for years (also part of the reasoning why there wasn't a hand-held one was the size). It is confusing to me both from a fluff and rules standpoint....but hey, that ain't the first time GW was all 'this is the way it is now'. We'll see how it rolls out. I feel like I'm the only BA player anyway so I'm likely alone in my rage.

In that case I will have to maintain a certain level of saltiness toward GW's heretical treatment of my space vampires in lieu of other's echoing my dissent.

Thanks man! I may not have passed on the Black Rage but I definitely passed on my lungs. This guy's got power!

Whew. Under slept and behind the curve, but here's some (now old) news regarding the Genestealer Cult:

I'm willing to bet that we'll see actual small Codex releases a la Inquisition or Assassinorum for both the Deathwatch and Genestealer Cult. Why else would they have FOC designations and not just Formation rules?
