Forces Requisitioned
To start things off, here's something from each of the Factions I play in 40k. I'm going to try to keep this to newer stuff...hopefully that will spur my to update some older paint jobs that need some loving. Anyway, here's some pictures!
Blood Angels, Sanguinary Priest made from the old metal model. Lightning Claw was cut at the shoulder to swing out and the armpit was puttied to prop it out for the swing. Chalice was made entirely out of Kneadatite. Jump Pack is, of course, magnetized...though the metal one is nowhere near as nicely affixed when in place.
Imperial Fists, Terminator Sergeant. Hammer arm was re positioned up long before I started pinning my pieces before puttying them, that arm was a real bitch to get where it is. He's an old model, and I have been working on my Tactical squads but they're nowhere near picture worthy. This model, now that I'm looking at a fresh picture, needs a lot of work still...it was also my first attempt at yellow outside of small splashes of colour.
Deathwing, Mortis Dreadnought. I -still- haven't finished painting Belial (first put paint to model around a year ago), so this remains the only member of this army painted. I do own 4/5 Terminator squads for them though and a second Mortis....it's just a matter of time. First attempt at doing green on this scale, or highlighting a vehicle in pretty much any way.
Callidus Assassin, soon to be joined by a (painted) Vindicare as well. Old metal model that I stripped from how I painted it as a 10/12 year old (I'm 28 now, and took a 10 year break from the hobby a few years after painting this initially). As a bonus, here's what she looked like before as well.
The Inquisition is something I haven't painted much from, one of my Inquisitors was purchased painted and I haven't seen fit to strip him and redo...but oh, it's gunna happen. Here are the Servo Skulls I made up in the interim.
White Scars, Captain on Bike. I'm pretty stoked on this model, he was quite the conversion from the Dark Vengeance bike sergeant. The Hammer was made from a GK Warding Stave and a Death Company hammer head, and the clamps for the Shield were taken from the Rhino accessories. I used liquid green stuff, a toothpick, and ultimate amounts of patience making (or trying to make, anyway) his cloak look like it was made of fur. All other instances of green is just plain old Kneadatite, though the hair was tricky. I still feel like the ammo crate on the back is a stop-gap until I can figure out how to make a sweet banner pole or something more captain-like, but it'll do for now.
Grey Knights at the moment are strictly an allied thing (much like the White Scars), and consist of a 5 man Terminator squad, a Librarian, and a Land Raider. I got the squad assembled and had to hack and slash my way through equipping them the way I wanted. This guy ended up being my Librarian, with repositioned Hammer arm and 'fixed' left hand.
Astra Militarum, Platoon Sergeant with Kromlech Power Axe. I was initially very disappointed with the scale of these axes. Turns out I still am, though that's my only gripe. There's a little thing here and there miscast, but this was the smallest axe in the group that was 'made to work with standard guardsmen'. I did my best with this guy, using butchered arms from a heavy weapons team to get the elbow positioning and the hands...well, it's a big awkward axe. Two more of these guys to make up for my 30 man blob that kicks it with and Inquisitor (or Azrael).
Necron Warriors. Nothing special here, but this is the colour scheme of my Necrons. Going for the Thokt Dynasty, I'm really curious as to how my Night Scythe and Immortals will turn out....kinda making it up as I go for them.
Well, that's it for my initial post. Hope to have more done in April!

Bam. I hate waiting for kneadatite to cure...time for another beer! Parts used (and waiting for my third HF equipped squad to begin being built) underneath. Who likes GK anyway, right?
EDIT: I am impatient. Reporting for duty!

Re: Forces Requisitioned
Cut out hills from some insulation foam I liberated from a job site before it was thrown out. I feel like (aside from painting) if I add another big building chunk, base the plastic craters on MDF, and build some two level (4" tall) hills this should be good for my initial pass at getting scenery on this table. Saw its first use last weekend for a 2k game, was very nice having the extra space over my 4'x4' board. Plus, stuff being out of LoS is nice..
As an added bonus, here's a 2k slice of my collection highlighting how much I need to get on painting...even if it's just basecoating!!

Holy crap! I started painting something!
The 4th Veteran squad for my 2k Guard list. Once these guys are done there's just some tank weapons and a Basilisk that I'm getting tomorrow to do up! Glorious artillery.

Thanks man, it's going to be glorious to play a painted 2k army. Really not sure when I'm going to get back to my BA...I feel like I've been painting red all my life and everything else is vastly more interesting.

Re: Forces Requisitioned
Woo restored Basilisk! It only took about an hour and a half of glue/plastic shaving, cutting of weird things, and GSing that front fender (pretty much just went: "well, that's good enough" hahaha).
I just couldn't be bothered to try and cut those flamer-looking tanks off the tread covers. This guy used more plastic glue than comes in a bottle on this model.

Man I hear that. I've done Saim-Hann inspired Eldar and Evil Suns orks. I can't wait to never paint red again.

You know my pain. I keep saying to myself: today will be the day.....and yet....no red paint has hit a model
I really need to go to Meeple and just buy all of their Army Painter sprays. What a time saver! I've used automotive primer a bunch too because it's like $5 from Crappy Tire but I'm not entirely sold on the way Citadel paints grab onto it afterward. Anything to never paint over a black basecoat again (unless it's Death Company, then duh), when I think about the sheer amount of time I have spend achieving an even red coat over black it gives me grey hairs.

Re: Forces Requisitioned
I actually have a bit of AP red leftover from my Eldar. I have one more vyper to prime and then its yours if you like.
I think I'm going to head to CT to get some $5 spray for terrain I've been working on but I don't know how much I'd want to use it on actual models.

Re: Forces Requisitioned
Here's a pic of the primer I have been using. Thought I had an Immortal that was just primed, but it looks like I was getting my silver on at some point. You can see how smooth it is though, and how nicely the silver is going over it at this point (if I recall, that's two thinned out coats of Ledbelcher). Come to think of it, my Drop Pods are all primed with the red version of this and the only thing I noticed was that it took way longer to get a solid coat of primer on it than I have spent with Citadel/AP base coats.
Warrior is for an unprimed reference.

Your custom flamers from the GK guns are awesome! I was never a fan of the way the plain incinerator looks. (In fact, GK guns in general are meh... which is why I do 100% counts-as)

Re: Forces Requisitioned
Thanks man, if I weren't in the midst of moving I'd be doing more things to fill this little thread. I've got the itch to get some painting done. Agreed on the GK weaponry aside from some of their close combat options. The stuff that isn't good lookin' on its own is easily chopped up and used to make unique other weapons (staves make awesome Crozius'). Plus those big swords! Glorious. I think I'm going to use one that I've got in the box to make the BA relic Valour's Edge, an AP2 power sword. Adding that to a new Chaplain that I'm concocting...'cuz my DC just aren't effective enough yet.

Huttah! Hobby stuff that isn't scenery (pics will be posted of the terrain when it's finished being painted). My new Chaplain with Valour's Edge:
I still need a to do a little bit of work on his wrists, but he's pretty well finished. Magnetized back pack/jump pack of course.

Re: Forces Requisitioned
I decided he didn't look too good with the tiny SG jump pack that I often use for characters. Tossed some BA bangles onto one of the bigguns and it looks way better, but that fancy left shoulder pad has to go. In breaking it off I had to remove the arm...the crozius...and his sword hand needed subtle re-positioning....
OK so I'm basically back where I started. He will look cool though.
New shiny might delay/distract from getting it done:
One unit of Sternguard coming up, plus (the right colour/quality) red basecoat! Love it, considering it takes me 45 minutes to get a good coat of Mephiston Red over a full model...
